Mausoleum of Khoja Ahmet Yassaui
The famous mausoleum, located in the Turkestan region, is named in honor of an outstanding Muslim leader and poet Khoja Ahmet Yassawi. This sacred place is traditionally considered the Little Mecca, because the three-time visit to the mausoleum is identical to the pilgrimage to the homeland of the Prophet Muhammad. Kazakhstan miracle with a height of 39 meters is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. There are 35 rooms here that are connected to each other by various passages and corridors; a library of ancient books, the underground mosque Hilvet , a bathhouse, as well as a room for the ritual of blessing newborns. In the central room called “ Kazandyk ” there is an ancient shrine “ Tai-Kazan” ". It is a bronze cauldron where water was previously poured to water the Muslims after Friday namaz.
